Fashion Revolution is a global movement that runs all year long. We believe in a fashion
industry that values people, the environment, creativity and profit in equal measure. We want
to unite people and organisations to work together towards radically changing the way our
clothes are sourced, produced and consumed, so that our clothing is made in a safe, clean and
Fashion Revolution Week is our #whomademyclothes campaign in April, which falls on the
anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse, which killed 1138 people and injured many
more on 24 th April 2013. That is the day Fashion Revolution was born.
This year, we are delighted to announce The Fashion Revolution Hub at COLAB, launching
on Saturday 20 th of April, and hosting a programme of events from the 22 nd to the 27 th . This
space will aim to inform and educate about fashion’s impacts on the world, in a way that is
welcoming to all. We will be holding a variety of creative workshops, industry talks, film
screenings, Q&A’s and more. We will also have an ongoing swapshop and be exhibiting work
by young Glasgow based designers focussed on the mission of sustainable fashion.
Scotland’s Fashion Revolution team are thrilled to have this opportunity within COLAB to
engage with the Glasgow community, celebrating fashion as a positive influence while also
scrutinising industry practices and raising awareness of fashion’s most pressing issues.
